Description

The Anse de Cavalière is a large bay of the Côte d'Azur. It is part of the municipality of Lavandou and is located west of Pointe du Layet and east of Cap Nègre.

The bay is well sheltered from the winds of the east and offers an excellent shelter close to Cap Nègre, an interesting area also because of the landscape, which is surrounded by high rocky shrubs covered with dense green Mediterranean vegetation.

Here, the Var department has also set up an organized mooring area, which can accommodate about 40 boats with a backdrop that varies from 2 to 7 meters.

This private anchor area is intended to regulate the pleasure of recreational boats in the bay. Even if the western part of the bay still offers a fair catch, however, the south-west opening of the bay is often exposed to wave motion caused by southern and south-west winds, a condition that can make the stay unpleasant - especially in the night hours.

In the central part of the bay there is a large sandy beach that stretches for about 1.4 kilometers, the Plage de Cavalière du Lavandou.

The beach includes both free zones and private establishments where you can rent equipment such as parasols and deck chairs. It offers showers and toilets, bars, restaurants and some of the points to rent equipment for sports such as windsurfing, beach volleyball and water skiing. The beach is also monitored during the summer and includes a station of medical first aid.

The area is easily accessible even to those who also come from the mainland, thanks to the presence of a parking lot for cars.

In the immediate vicinity of the beach, you can find hotels, shops and mini markets.

From here, the city center of Lavandou is about 7 kilometers away.

In the west of the bay, close to the Pointe du Layet, there is a second beach, plage du Layet, frequented by nudists, not far from a car park and offering some toilet facilities. Also here you can find a beach restaurant.
