Description

Cala Managu is situated between the cities of Alghero (in the North) and Oristano ( in the South), in the municipality of Bosa, in eastern Sardinia.

The anchorage is a beautiful place, well-sheltered from all winds and with a seabed of about 4 metres that gently slopes to the Bosa beach. The latter, 1 km long, is equipped with bathing establishments and several hotels.

Sable is subtle and the seabed is safe enough for families with children, especially during sunny unwindy days.

Thanks to its clean crystal-blue waters, the beach is awarded with the prestigious Legambiente five stars every year. Furthermore, the beach offers a wide range of services for both adults and children, including kayak and boat rental, wind surf and kite surf equipment and organized diving excursions.

Cala Matanu is not, however, the ideal place for those seeking for silence and calmness; on the contrary, it is perfect to find any kind of hotels and entertainment, along with shops and stores.

Compared to other places in Sardinia, tourism is not excessive here and the coast raises in the region of Plenargia, where the city of Bosa is the only river city of Sardinia. The town is currently part of the province of Oristano but, until 2005, it belonged to that of Nuoro.
Bosa is the only one town of Sardinia built near a navigable river. The coastal side of the town is named Bosa Marina and it includes a small harbour located at the mouth of the river.
On the slopes of Serravalle Hill, the town hosts the 13th-century Malaspina castle. In terms of culinary tradition, Bosa is very famous for the production of Malvasia wine.
The beach of Cala Managu is accessible through a long challenging dirt track, plunged in a generous Mediterranean forest and situated opposite the small islet, a popular destination for scuba divers and snorkeling enthusiasts.
The beach and the sea bed are mainly sandy, with some rocks and meadows.
The coastline hosts several enchanting small coves exclusively reachable by sea, like Cala Rapina, Cala 'e Moros, S’Abba Druche and Tentizzos.
