Cala Mortorio  

Cala Mortorio is a small cove in Mortorio Island. Situated south-east of the La Maddalena Archipelago, about two miles away from the coastline between Porto Rotondo and Porto Cervo, the whole area is part of the La Maddalena Archipelago National Park. Consequently, it is a protected marine reserve subject to specific environmental protection rules.

The island is a very popular tourist destination, especially for sea lovers sailing in the Strait of Bonifacio. The cove is generally considered to be the Bay of the Sardinians par excellence because of its incredible tourist prestige.

The granitic structure of the island famous for its wonderful cliffs is rich of pristine uninhabitated landscapes and generous Mediterrranean vegetation.

The typical boater who decides to moor in this Sardinian cove looks for a place where to relax and enjoy natural wonders, far from commercial tourist contamination. In fact, the zone is totally pristine. The only services provided are the sea and wonderful sea bottoms rich of splendours to be discovered.

The cove is not particularly large and can host a maximum of 50 recreational and sailing boats. Of course, the bay is not accessible by cruise ships and tourist boats.

Cala Mortorio is a peace of heaven plunged in the wonders of northern Sardinia. With a view to the neighbouring Corsica, it offers an unforgettable calm sea, able to meet the needs of the most demanding tourists. Thanks to its incredible sea bottoms, pristine and protected environment, it is considered to be the Italian counterpart of Bahamas.
