Ses Illetes Bay 

The bay of Ses Illetes is located in the north of Formentera, oriented to the west. This coast of the island is characterized by being devoid of reliefs; particularly the peninsula of Trucador is a complex of sand dunes, whose sides are the beaches of Ses Illetes and Levante; the two most famous and crowded beaches of the island. The more eastern beach (Levante) is constantly beaten by winds, though not too strong, therefore, it is the paradise for anyone who practices windsurfing and other water sports.

Sant Francesc of Formentera is the pulsating heart of the island, and it is the largest residential complex. The island's harbor, La  Savina, is the town center closest by the two beaches; just two miles from Ses Illetes and four miles from the Levante beach. This area is a true paradise for yachtsmen, characterized by unspoiled beaches, completely deserted, virgins, and sandy tongues with a luxuriant vegetation, breathtaking and stunning coves.

Formentera remains one of the favorite Mediterranean resorts by nudists and naturists, who attend massively its beaches, thanks to the permissive legislation in Spain.

Throughout the territory of the island, a network of pedestrian and cycle paths, real "green circuits", has been installed. By crossing it over and over for a total of over 45 km, allows you to know the places more thoroughly and in complete harmony with nature.

The most popular of these routes, the "Camì de Ses Illetes", passes through to the wonderful Saline Park, leading to the most beautiful and famous beaches of the island. The path runs along incredible natural landscapes, it passes through the sand dunes and pine forests of the park, in particular along the saline Formentera, a really interesting place, although currently in disuse.

The Ses Illetes beach is about 3 nautical miles from the port of La Savina, on the western side of the island of Formentera. Particularly, this area is part of the Trucador Peninsula, located between Punta des Pas and Platgeta des Carregador. The name of the beach "Ses Illetes" means “the islets”, this name is due to the five small islands that protect the bay.

From the coast you can then identify the five islets, the best known are "Illa des Ponent", "Illa de Tramuntana", "Escull des Pou" and "Illa Rodona", in the south bay area, whereas in the north it is possible to locate the famous islet of "s'Espalmador",  a real natural unspoiled and uninhabited paradise .

 The bay of Ses Illetes is a very special place; it is part of the Natural Special Interest Area of the Saline Natural Park, as the posidonia prairie covering the backdrop has been declared World Heritage by Unesco. This uncontaminated and wonderful habitat is populated by a rich and varied species of marine fauna, an attraction of diving lovers from all over the world.

The beach and the natural environment that surrounds are a real paradise: with its fine white sand and crystal clear waters, a stunning turquoise color, it evocates the colors of the Caribbean islands. For this reason, the beach is one of the most crowded in Formentera, along with its twin beach of Levante, located exactly on the opposite side of the sand tongue.
