It was a unique unprecedented event that organized by Absolute Yachts last 13th and 14th May in Portopiccolo, about 20 km away from Trieste, to present the new Absolute 58 Fly. It was indeed the first time that a boat had been unveiled simultaneously in two very distant places: Portopiccolo, Italy, and the Marina Cove Sai, Hong Kong. The event was live-broadcasted on Facebook and Absolute’s social channels and presented by Luca D’Ambrosio, Editor-in-Chief of Boatandboats.com.
The two-day event was a great opportunity for customers, yacht enthusiasts, insiders and friends of the brand to admire the latest model of the shipyard with the involvement of the whole Absolute Yachts’ board of directors, starting from Paola Carini and Angelo Gobbi, Absolute Yachts CEO (and patroness of the event) and President respectively along with the two co-founders of the shipyard: Executive Officer Operations Manager and Logistics& Materials Manager Marcello Bé and Absolute Vide-President Sergio Maggi, who is also the head of both the Research&Development department and responsible for the development of all Absolute models and the 58 fly concept.
Equally active in showing the main characteristics of the Absolute 58 Fly was Absolute VP Sales & CCO Cesare Mastroianni while Absolute Sales & Marketing Manager Patrizia Gobbi organized and took care of the double debut of the yacht in Europe and Asia.
Volvo Penta, the company which has provided the new Absolute 58 with two Ips 800 engines, was represented at the event by Volvo Penta Italia Director Nicola Pomi and Volvo Penta Europe, Middle East and Asia-Pacific Director Giorgio Paris. They both described the synergic collaboration between the Swedish manufacturer and Absolute Yachts for the production of the new motorization.
While the Piacenza-based shipyard was presenting its latest creation in Portopiccolo, a simultaneous presentation ceremony took place at Marina Cove, along the China Sea coasts. The event was attended by Thomas Woo (Absolute Marine Limited), Absolute dealer in Hong Kong; Volvo Penta Vice-President and Sales & Marketing Manager for the Chinese market Steven Ding; and Hong Kong Christian College YMCA English Department Director Jessica Choi, also moderator and announcer of the event.
The two events were live-streamed on Absolute’s social channels, which allowed almost 10,000 people to follow the double appointment simultaneously.
However, the Absolute weekend went beyond the presentation of the new model. The shipyard indeed exhibited two models of the Navetta series, the 58 and the 52 along with the flagship of the Flybridge line, the Absolute 72 Fly. The two-day event was also the occasion for Absolute Yachts President Angelo Gobbi to remember that the 58 Fly is not the only new entry of 2017. During the next Cannes Yachting Festival (September 12th-17th) the shipyard indeed will launch the new Navetta 73, currently under construction.
