Hanse will take part to the next Cannes Yachting Festival with two new models. Last year, the German shipbuilder focused on small sizes and launched Hanse 315, a compact boat which was particularly appreciated by the market. This year, it’s the turn of two bigger boats: new Hanse 588 and Hanse 675, the flagship (picture above).

On both the two models, the effort to make cruise more pleasant is evident. For example, the master cabin on Hanse 588 is shielded against yacht and environmental noise through a special sound absorbing material. All devices and pumps are placed elsewhere. Only the air conditioner is inside the shipowner’s cabin but it is encapsulated in a special compartment.

A large 3- square-metre glass skylight (with opening windows) illuminates the saloon and six large windows conveniently positioned at eye level offer wonderful views. The traditional L-shaped kitchen can be replaced with a free-standing island kitchen. Interiors are available in different layouts, always with soft lines and free-standing furniture.

The sailing area of this 17-metre-boat is generous (the mast is 25.85 metres high and the sailing area is 157 square metres wide, with autofurling jib), designed with a second fore stay and hydraulic furling systems. There is also an astern tender garage for a Williams 280; the deck, the bathroom platform and the garage are connected through a large ladder, integrated into the hull. Optionals include t-top, bbq, sink and icebox in the cockpit.

Two years after her presentation at Düsseldorf Boat Show in 2014, the new flagship of the group has touched the water this spring and now she’s ready for her official presentation in Cannes. Hanse 675 is a mini superyacht, with a length of 21 metres and carbon mast. Like the other models, she was designed by Judel/ Vrolijk & Co. A beautiful hard top protects a minimal cockpit, while a large window on the deckhouse roof illuminates interiors, which can include 3 or 4 cabins.

Hanse has also started a collaboration with Elvstrøm, an established company specialized in sails production. Together, they have designed a particular sail they define “crossover”. The aim is to make cruise increasingly easier through an efficient versatile sail. In practice, it’s an asymmetric sail, with a separated stay, which can be used between 135 and 65 degrees, designed for all old and new Hanse models.
