That one between Porto Sole and Tethys Institute is a long friendship. The marina owned by Cozzi Parodi Group has been hosting the boats used by the no-profit organisation for cetacean-watching for a long time but now it has also decided to adopt a sperm whale which will be named Porto Sole. Cozzi Parodi Group’s sensivity towards ecology and marine environment protection is popular and this new action makes it more evident.Cattura 3

Tethys Institute is a no-profit organisation committed to protect marine environment through scientific research and awareness projects; its main purpose is the marine environment protection through the support of scientific knowledge about specific rules, the participation to the international protection process, education and awareness campaigns.

Cattura 5In its 30-year-activity, Tethys has produced one of the biggest databases about Mediterranean cetaceans and thousands of scientific publications. In 1991, Tethys was the first organisation which conceived and proposed the creation of a symbolic protected area, Pelagos Sanctuary for the protection of marine mammals in the Mediterranean Sea, the first conservation area built beyond a national jurisdiction. Since 1987, Tethys has been involving thousands of volunteers from all around the world in its activities.
