Description
Marina Romea raises in the province of Ravenna, Emilia Romagna, on the Adriatic Sea. The marina is situated at the mouth of river Lamone and it includes two docks. On the southers shore, there is the Yacht Club which manages six 35-metre-long piers while the right shore of the river is completely obstructed.
While entering the port, please keep the right, pass close to the left shore and sail upriver for about 600 metres; finally, on the left, you'll find the dry dock. At this point, pass between the two inner breakwaters until the entrance of the marina. The Yacht Club of Marina Romea counts about 100 members, owners of boats ranging from 5 up to 12 m, and it owns a private parking lot.
The structure offers many facilities, such as a restaurant, toilets, a computer corner, a filling station (patrol and diesel), a crane (10 t), a travel lift, a well-equipped workshop and a bottom power washer. The bottoms within the port are periodically dredged and all piers are equipped with water, electricity and lighting. The entire area around the yacht club is under 24-hour video surveillance and controlled by wacthmen at night. The structure can receive up to 111 boats.
In winter, it's often foggy. During all the year, the area around the marina is subjet to an intense traffic of cargo ships, tourist ferries and recreational boats. In Marina di Ravenna, in fact, raise Porto Corsini and Porto Marinara, too.
Marina Romea was funded in the middle of the last century and today, it is one among the most elegant ports of the Emilian Coast. It's a vibrant oasis with green spaces and several paths running from the pine forest to the beach.
Just behind of this quiet and family-friendly context, there's the Regional Po Delta Park, a protected area inaugurated in 1988. Marina di Romea is situated between Porto Corsini and Casal Borsetti and it was an uninhabited and marshy zone until 50's. Following the development process of the area, a connecting road, now the main boulevard of the town, was built.
The name of the town comes from main road Romea 309 which links Mestre to Ravenna running along the Adriatic Coast. This is the main road which links the coasline of Romagna with Veneto.
