Description
Portomaran is a marina situated on Dossat Island, few kilometres far from the centre of Marano Lagunare, in the province of Udine. The lagoons of Marano Lagunare and Grado are rich of natural, historic and artistic beauties.
You can get a taste of the lagoon environment by visiting the natural reserve of Valle Canal Nuovo or that called "Foci del fiume Stella" ("mouths of river Stella"), a real paradise for birdwatchers, accessible only by sea.
It's a quiet pristine landscape you can explore by boat through a guided path passing through a village characterized by large cane houses once used as sheltes for fishermen.
The port is 15 km far from the San Giorgio di Nogaro A4 Venice-Trieste motorway and 35 km from Ronchi dei Legionari airport. By boat, the marina is accessible only through the channel of Marano.
The mouth of the marina is on the right, at the entrance of the port. The canal is dredged and marked by some white poles on the right and some red ones on the left. Because of low sea bottoms, we suggest be careful while sailing in the port.
Equipped with floating piers, the dry dock of Portomaran can receive 500 boats while 20 berths are reserved for transiting vessels. The marina is also equipped with a pier for disable people.
The port offers a plurality of services, such as drinkable water, electricity, toilets, showers, Wi-Fi, restaurants, coffee bars, videosurveillance, night watchmen, a filling station, a car park. a yacht club, a drugstore, a pay phone, a cigarette store, a kiosk and a minimarket, in addition to a waste collection service (including used oils, filters and batteries), an information office, weather forecast and an upcoming spa.
Moreover, the port is equipped with a slipway, an open garaging area and a covered one. In addition to efficient maintenance services on engines and boats up to 20 tons, the shipyard of the port offers electric and mechanical repairs on wooden and fiberglass hulls, haulage, launch, cleaning, polishing, anti-fouling and anti-osmosis treatments, scraping and painting and much more.
