Description

Sanremo Public Port has a 82.500-square-metre body of water and a bottom with a depth between 1 and 4.5 metres. The harbour is bounded by a long dam and a shorter dock reserved for fishing boats. Yachtsmen can moor at the 8 floating piers privately run. Mooring places are 450 and the maximum length allowed is 16 metres. The harbour is open 24 hours a day and the maximum speed allowed is 2 knots.

The harbour is equipped with slipway, gas station (open from 8h00 to 19h00), water machines and many other services. The harbour offers a good shelter but south-western winds can make navigation a little troubled.

Sanremo is a city on the Mediterranean coast of western Liguria in north-western Italy, located between Capo Nero and Capo Verde. It's a populartourist destination of Italian Riviera, known as the City of Flowers, this one being an important aspect of the local economy. The city is composed by two different areas: an old one called Pigna, with ancient houses and narrow roads, and a modern one with hotels, villas, gardens, a casino and sport centres. It hosts the Sanremo Music Festival and it is both the arrival point of a classic cycling race and a stage of the car rally championship. On the last Sunday of March, the city hosts "Sanremo in flowers", a charming parade of flowered floats built in the surrounding municipalities of the Riviera.

Among the beaches, that one of Tre Ponti (three bridges), surrounded by hills, presents a completely free area and an equipped one, where you can rent beach beds and umbrellas, paddle boats and enjoy two coffee bars and a restaurant. The beach is very popular among surfers, who crowd it both in summer and winter. The beach in Costa di Capo Verde, located on the eastern side of Sanremo, is a rocky beach, rich of small bays and with a length of about 150 metres. You can reach it through a small path surrounded by cliffs and rocks.

The culinary specialities of Sanremo include sardenaira, the old Sanremo's pizza, torta verde (green cake), with rice and fresh vegetables, buridda, a typical fish dish with octopuses and squids, and brandacujun codfish, with potatoes, olive oil and garlic, excellent with a Vermentino bottle.
