Port de Canet-en- Roussillon is located on Gulf of the Lion Coast (Mediterranean France).
It is made up of four mooring basins. The favourable position, between the sea and the ponds of Leucate, protects the harbour well.
Mooring places are 997 in total (some of which are reserved for transiting yachtsmen).
The harbour can host boats with a maximum length of 35 metres, while draught varies from 4 metres (at the entrance of the harbour) to 3.5 metres (in the channel and basins) or even 2 metres. In any case, the maximum draught allowed is 3 metres. Anchorage is forbidden in the whole harbour and in the area in front of it.
The area is rather sheltered from southern and south-western winds, but be careful to eventual northern and north-eastern winds which could be dangerous at the entrance of the harbour.
The marina offers the following services: drinkable water, electric charging columns (exclusively reserved for boat engines charging), toilets, showers, waste and exhausted oils collection area, bilge pumps.
The Port Authority produces weather bulletins three times a day.
The yard of the harbour is provided with a travelift with a maximum range of 35 tons, a fixed crane with a maximum range of 4 tons, garaging areas for small and large boats, hauling areas, towing service, maintenance and repairing areas, self-service patrol and gasoline station (24h/24 open).
The area is under video surveillance and night guardian surveillance.
The harbour also offers boats and accessories sales and purchaces services.
In summer, the local Port Authority's office is open from 8h00 to 12h00 and from 14h00 to 17h00.
Port de Canet en Roussillon is surrounded by a large sandy beach, shops, supermarkets, bus stops and drugstores.
The area around Le Canet en Roussillon offers lots of beaches.
Plage de la Jetée is the closest one, on the right side of the harbour. It's a large sandy beach, with a wonderful view on Pyrenees. The beach is equipped with car parking lots and, in summer, a first-aid station. It offers a restaurant and some showers, too.
Plage du Sardinal is near the left side of the harbour. It's a sandy beach, equipped with a first-aid station in summer, showers, toilets, beach equipments, a restaurant and many parking lots (some of which are totally free).
The presence of some sandy dunes with little vegetation and its proximity to the harbour - which hasn't damaged the original natural beauty of the site - makes this place one of the most popular and appreciated of the coast.
