The port of Alassio arises in the marina of the namesake Ligurian village in the province of Savona. It is called Luca Ferrari and it is very popular and crowded during all the year to the point that a waiting list is required to find a place here.
Only transiting boats up to 35 m can moor in the port, while the others can have a maximum length of 30 m. Mooring places are 550 in total, including those reserved for the military authorities, fishing boats, stationary and transiting boats.
The harbour is well-equipped and, in addition to all the typical essential services, it offers mooring assistance, a sewage and bilge waters pump suction station, a fixed crane (40 t), many shops, coffee bars, restaurants and even a disco. Moreover, guests can receive weather reports by a local weather station.
The guests of the harbour usually sail to Saint Tropez, the island of Elba, Cape Corse and the area is very popular among the lovers of sailing. In fact, there's a rich sailors' community and many summer marine events and national races often take place here.
The structure is well-sheltered by a long inner breakwater and an inner dock. There are also some floating quays, all equipped with mooring bollards and rings. Mooring outside the inner breakwater is not allowed.
At the entrance of the port, please pay attention to a long jelly and contact the marina on VHF channel 09. The yachting club's channel is, on the contrary, number 16.
Transiting boats can have a maximum draught of 2.80 m. The entire area of the harbour is covered by WiFi and there are three different service areas equipped with toilets and showers.
In the island of Gallinara, just one mile far, there's even a diving centre and many sailing schools.
The port facility Marina of Alassio is classified BandieraBlu (note: an official acknowledgement to maritime structures of their awareness of the environment) for landings since 2006, title assigned by the FEE (Foundation for Environmental Education).
The surroundings offer the interesting Stella Maris chapel and the Sanctuary of Tirasso.
